iDream 2025 Challenge – September Week 3

Giving up is easy, but persevering is cool!”

A female warrior’s journey to self-improvement.

In Foshan, no one dares to slack off in Lu Minxian’s (吕敏贤) class. On the training ground, she is a meticulous and demanding coach, because she carries a larger dream: to become the first female successor of the Hongsheng Liang School.

Her passion for martial arts began at age nine. When her mother enrolled only her younger brother in martial arts lessons, she blurted out, “Why not take me?” From that moment, she set foot on a lifelong path of discipline. “If you have little strength, practice strength; if you are slow, practice speed.” For 24 years, she has lived by this credo.

Yet the road has not been easy. In the traditional martial arts world, doubts about women follow her like a shadow. Lu Minxian answers not with words but with strength. For her, it’s the “betterwayforward. Check out Lu Minxian’s story in this video produced by CCTV.
