Erik Spoelstra | Head Coach, Miami Heat

Erik Spoelstra didn’t begin his career under the bright lights.
He started with the Miami Heat as a video coordinator, spending long hours breaking down game footage and doing painstaking work few outside the organization would ever see.
But he kept studying. Kept learning. Kept showing up.

The video coordinator became an assistant coach and scout. The assistant became head coach. Then came NBA championships, recognition as one of basketball’s most respected coaches and ultimately the role of head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Team.
There was no single leap.

There were thousands of hours of unseen work, repeated when the work was tedious, recognition was distant and there was no guarantee where it would lead.
Greatness rarely announces itself at the beginning. Sometimes it starts in a room nobody notices.
What’s your own “video room” experience: the unseen work you’re willing to keep showing up for?
That’s iDream.
